I know I’m a little late on this, but I’m loving this new track by Sharon Van Etten. It’s like a Wye Oak Song, with National percussion, and Van Etten’s angsty lyrics soaring over it all. Her new album Tramp is out Feb 7th on Jagjaguwar.
The track alone features: Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner, the Walkmen’s Matt Barrick, and Doveman’s Thomas Bartlett, the National’s Aaron Dessner and his brother Bryce. How is that even possible? (via)

Affinity Cycles has launched the Kissena Velo Fund to “create and revitalize the Kissena Velodrome into a world class indoor 250 meter Velodrome and create the New York City Cycling Center and Museum.” NYC is already a world-wide cycling hotspot, and creating the velodrome and a museum will only further the efforts cyclists have made to turn this city into bike-friendly territory. You can donate to the campaign, but even more fun is to check out their online shop where you can purchase products to support the project including an INSANE framset or complete build, limited edition track bike (only 25!). Check out more project plans here!

Moveable Type is a project started by Kyle Durrie, a custom-printer out in Portland OR who decided to take her business to the masses. She fixed up an old 1982 Chevy van and created a mobile letterpress studio, where she teaches classes and holds workshops all over the country. She hit the road this past summer and is still traveling across the country, spreading the good word about doing things the old-fashioned way, and getting people psyched about printing. Check out her upcoming stops here, and an awesome interview here!
