Photographer Ari Marcopoulos, who got his start as an assistant to Andy Warhol, has a new solo exhibition up at the Bowery Stadium titled “Dark Sun”; celebrating East Coast surfing, specifically surfers living in NYC. Part of the installation is a wave sculpture running through the gallery which was been skated by members of the NYC surf/skate community, and certainly adds to the gritty aesthetic of his 35mm photos. “Dark Sun” will be on display through Sep 26.
