The Black Keys surprised folks yesterday by randomly releasing a live EP from their tour rehearsal sessions, appropriately titled The Tour Rehearsal Tapes. Here’s their cut of “Lonely Boy” off their latest release El Camino. Given the nature of the recording, you’d expect rough, loose versions of the songs, but instead I was blown away again by how tight these dudes are, even after seeing them live. Really goes to show that these guys are just as talented as they sound in the studio, including Dan Auerbach’s magical ability to sound like he’s playing three guitars at once.
