CMJ 2012 GUIDE

Hey guys, and happy CMJ! The music marathon starts tomorrow, so here’s some bands worth checking out. Hope to bump into you at some of these shows:
Daughter - Gorgeous emotiofolk for looking out your cabin windows at the rain
DIIV - (pictured above) owning the Brooklyn buzz-band scene right now, fuzzed out nostalgia rock
Dum Dum Girls - these indie rock lady veterans can do no wrong
Flatbush Zombies - rap crew from my neighborhood, scary motherfuckers who will scream at you and then toss you a bag of blunts. They’ve been touring with the A$AP Mob
Foxygen - I’ve been obsessing over these guys recently, the Wes Anderson soundtrack-ization of contemporary indie rock
Ghostface Killah - no explanation needed
King Tuff - honky tonk garage rock for the masses
METZ - noise punk extrodinaires a la The Men. They will knock you out.
Quilt - these MA hippies will have you wishing it was summer and you were lying in the sand
Shark? - party music 2012. Get sweaty and dance like its 285 Kent.
