Get your fill of lady-indie-pop-rock right here with Jenny Lewis's new album The Voyager, produced by Ryan Adams and including a collaboration with Beck. There’s touches of country without getting corny, cute pop without going the way of Zooey Deschanel, and stuck-in-your-head Sesame Street tunes without being “1, 2, 3, 4”. All in all, a tough balance to achieve but she’s managed to hit the nail right on the head.
Keep an eye out for my coverage of Jenny Lewis performing at the Newport Folk Festival this weekend in that amazing rainbow suit. It’s going to be awesome.

The War on Drugs killed it on Letterman last night, setting their tune “Red Eyes” on fire. Can’t wait to see these guys in Newport!

Here’s the jangly new psych-folk-garage release called “Like That” from White Fence. It’s taken from his upcoming LP, For the Recently Found Innocentproduced by frequent collaborator Ty Segall. Both these dudes churn out music at an alarming rate, and I’m super into it (Ty’s new album Manipulator drops in August)

Tomorrow night’s Mac Demarco/Charles Bradley show might be sold out, but the rest of the (FREE) House of Vans summer lineup is looking damn strong.
