One of my favorite grabs from this year’s Record Store Day was the Live Versions release from Tame Impala. Here’s “Half Full Glass of Wine” off that album and holy crap, this track is smoking.

Amen Dunes and his new album Love have been my personal spring soundtrack. Weird, but not somehow familiar, off the beaten path but not going too far into unknown territory. This is his one plugged-in, psych-rock track off Love, the rest of the album is mostly lucid folk rock, with a vocal style which sounds like The Walkmen + Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Highly recommended.

Real Estate's new video for “Crimes” premiered on Funny or Die this morning. I'd skip ahead to about 2:40 where the actual video starts, featuring a bunch of skater vampires, Nick Kroll, and Thai food.

Here’s the new Black Key’s slow-burnin’ single “Turn Blue”

Real Estate performed “Talking Backwards” on Letterman last night. Still loving Atlas!

Pure X, Fly Away with Me Woman From the album Angel. 144 plays

Somehow just getting into Pure X and their beautiful new album Angel, which as one friend put it, is just full of boner jams. Perfect perfect spring music. A little bit of T Rex, a little bit of mellow Flaming Lips, and a sex-ed up Real Estate vibe. Just loving this, stream the full album here.

New instrumental Jack White tune “Highball Stepper” off his upcoming solo album Lazaretto, out June 10. It’s sludgy, burnt, and all over the place. Sounds great to me.

To celebrate Out Among the StarsLa Blogotheque captured Father John Misty, Dawes, and Local Natives performing Johnny Cash tunes in the desert

Here’s the title track off Woods' upcoming album “With Light and With Love” - absolutely cannot wait for this release.

Here’s the new Black Keys single “Fever”

Salad Days is here

Yes. I just discovered Ex Hex and they may very well be my favorite girl band ever. Like if Best Coast grew up a little bit and jammed with Sleater Kinney.

Lo-fi new video for the Black Lips' “Justice After All” has the band running down quiet streets, live footage, cute audience members.

Father John Misty continued his tour of providing backup vocals for Beck (let’s hope this becomes a permanent thing) on ‘Fallon”, where they performed “Waking Light”.
