Lord Huron, The Ghost on the Shore From the album Lonesome Dreams. 1,080 plays

One of the greatest things about living in NYC is that as soon as you discover an artist you like, you can pretty much run out and see them live that night. That’s certainly the case here with Lord Huron, as they tour their new album Lonesome Dreams. As you’ll hear in this tune, titled “The Ghost on the Shore”, they’ve traded in their Lion King soundtrack style for some lonesome cowboy music, and it suits them well. You can catch these guys at Glasslands this Friday, touring with one of my favorite new bands Night Moves. Should be a really great show.

Minneapolis country psych-rockers Night Moves have released a follow-up to their insanely catchy single “Headlights”. This tune is called “Country Queen”, and these dudes are staying true to form with twangy rock and David Vanderveld-y vocals. Their full length Colored Emotions is out October 9 via Domino, and the band will be touring this fall with Lord Huron.

Night Moves are a new band out of Minneapolis who are currently on tour with Caveman. Their brand of country-tinged indie rock is right up my alley, reminds me a bit of David Vandervelde, and their band name ain’t too shabby either. These guys just signed with Domino, and I’m looking forward to hearing more from them.
